Direct Support Professional
What is a DSP? A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is someone who works directly with people who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. DSPs assist people in realizing their full potential. They help people become integrated and engaged in their community. A DSP is more than a caregiver, they help people learn to do things for themselves.
Cardinal Services is currently accepting applications for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work at our residential locations in Warsaw, Plymouth, Silver Lake, Bremen, Rochester, Knox and Logansport.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide companionship and conversation
- Assist individuals with budgeting, cooking, and personal hygiene
- Support community engagement
- Medication administration
- Support, teach and assist individuals with the goal of living a life of dignity, growth and opportunity.
Candidates that are qualified for this position are motivated by making a difference in the lives of others, a supportive personality and a strong work ethic. No previous experience is required, as we will train the right people.
Candidates must be 18 years of age and have the ability to work in a Human Service setting with favorable background screens.
We offer flexible and traditional work schedules for either full or part time positions.
Pay starts at $17.01 for weekday hours with a $1.99 shift differential for weekend hours. Full-time (32 hours to 40 hours) employees enjoy an excellent benefits package including:
